The measure was taken after a video went viral on social media showing two young men fighting in the middle of traffic on Valsequillo Boulevard. Those involved ignored the flow of traffic, endangering their own safety and that of others.
According to official information, the “Tulum” bar failed in its responsibility to maintain order in the immediate vicinity of the establishment. The sanction was carried out with the support of the Secretariat of Citizen Security to ensure peace during the operation.
Residents of the University City area indicated that disturbances at this establishment are constant. Accumulated complaints include excessive noise starting at midday and frequent fights involving young people who consume alcoholic beverages on the premises.
In addition to the external conflicts, it was found that the bar routinely operated at overcrowded conditions, especially on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This situation posed a civil protection risk to the students who frequent the bars in the University City area.
Residents of the surrounding area stated that the noise generated by the establishment was affecting their quality of life and ability to rest. They asserted that, despite previous interventions by the bar’s security personnel, the assaults in the street continued unabated.
Following the incident, the building was found this Saturday morning with closure notices clearly visible on its main entrances.
