This Friday, a helicopter was brought down by a strong gust of wind in Zitácuaro, Michoacán, while on the ground during the “Presa Fest 2026” event, leaving at least three people injured, local authorities reported.
According to the Zitácuaro Fire Department, the aircraft had five people on board when the incident occurred. Later, the City Council clarified that the helicopter was already on the ground when a gust of wind caused it to flip over.
The initial report indicated that three people were injured, with symptoms such as pain, numbness in their extremities, and possible cervical spine injuries. In one case, possible rib damage was reported.
Two other occupants, including the co-pilot, experienced nervous shock and tachycardia, although they did not require hospitalization.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to provide assistance to those affected and secure the area. A crane later removed the helicopter.
