Through a post shared on social media, the Estamos Unidos Campechanos (We Are United Campeche Residents) page points out that between October and December 2024, Layda Sansores launched a full-scale attack against former governor Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas for the “monument to corruption” that the Administrative City building represented. However, today that same building, which should have housed several government agencies to avoid paying rent, was assigned only to the police chief, Marcela Muñoz, from Guanajuato, and there were no legal proceedings or investigations, just a media spectacle.
The post states: “Does anyone remember how, back in October to December 2024, Governor Layda Sansores made a scapegoat of Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas and his then Secretary of Public Works, the late engineer Edilberto Buenfil Montalvo, over the Administrative City building and all the waste, hidden flaws, corruption, and technical defects it represented?”
Well, today that “monument to corruption,” as the governor called it back then, has become the palace of the Secretary of Citizen Protection and Security, Marcela Muñoz, and the headquarters of her police force: There were no arrests, no indictments, no legal proceedings, no investigations, nothing. Just a media circus, asserted Estamos Unidos Campechanos (We Are United Campeche).
Today, no one is in jail for that supposed waste and corruption at the Administrative City complex. There’s only a new tenant. That building wasn’t designed for just one department, but for several. So that, on the one hand, the government would stop paying so much in rent, and on the other, citizens would have several agencies in one place. Today, it belongs only to Marcela. All for her. Oh, and don’t you dare touch her, criticize her, or even mention her, because the governor claims that so much criticism of the Secretary of Security is due to her being a woman and not to her abysmal performance, which is plain for all to see. That’s the end of the post.
