The mayor of the capital city, Enrique Francisco Galindo Ceballos, said this Monday that the San Luis en Primavera 2026 Festival exceeded expectations in terms of visitors, with the number potentially reaching 200,000. He also highlighted the peaceful nature of this and other events held in the city during Holy Week.

He indicated that, according to preliminary data from the Tourism Observatory, the festival, organized by his administration, attracted not only domestic visitors but also international tourists from more than twenty countries, including the United States, Colombia, Germany, France, and even Japan.

He emphasized that the festival also met its objectives in the hotel sector, with more than 60 percent of visitors staying in hotels and registering a fourth night. “From a tourism perspective, that is very valuable,” he explained.

At the same time, he highlighted that between seven and eight percent of the attendees were disabled, which “confirms our profile as an inclusive city, attracting this audience that wasn’t previously drawn to it.”

Galindo Ceballos, interviewed, indicated that a detailed report on the results of the 2026 San Luis Spring Festival will be released in the coming days, and that discussions are still underway with merchants and service providers, primarily hoteliers.

However, he commented that initial expectations were between 100,000 and 120,000 visitors, “and I think we reached 200,000”; he also praised the behavior of both residents of San Luis Potosí and visitors during the large events.
