The Nayarit government announced an extension of the deadline for discounts on vehicle-related procedures for drivers in the state. Authorities stated that this measure aims to help citizens regularize their vehicle registration status.
Through a decree published in the Official Gazette of Nayarit, it was announced that, at the instruction of Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, the deadline for discounts on vehicle-related procedures in the state has been extended.
This means that drivers can obtain benefits and discounts if they complete their vehicle-related procedures before June 30th, primarily to access the 15% discount on license plates, registration cards, and emissions testing.
“This measure will allow citizens to regularize their status, as additional discounts will also be granted on some surcharges, as part of the tax benefits for fiscal year 2026,” they also stated in a post on their official social media accounts.
What benefits and discounts are available to drivers in Nayarit?
Drivers in Nayarit can obtain the following benefits and discounts if they make their payments for fiscal year 2026 and prior years by June 30:
15% discount on the license plate issuance fee
15% discount on the vehicle registration card issuance fee
corresponding to fiscal year 2026
15% discount on the annual vehicle emissions test fee
corresponding to fiscal year 2026
100% discount on surcharges and updates to fees incurred for
registration of the vehicle registration card and annual emissions test
corresponding to fiscal year 2026 and prior years
50% discount on the fine imposed for failure to renew license plates
corresponding to fiscal year 2022

Motorists can check their outstanding balance and make payments online through the official website of the Nayarit Ministry of Administration and Finance: https://www.hacienda-nayarit.gob.mx/tramites2_.html.
However, the state government also indicates that they can go directly to the tax collection offices in their municipality. In Tepic, they can schedule appointments for license plate pickup.
