Senator Lili Téllez launched a direct and unfiltered attack against Marcelo Ebrard, accusing him of abusing his power and lying to justify himself.
“You broke the law so your son could live like a prince in the embassy,” she declared, while also accusing him of using public funds to support him in London.
Téllez went further:
“You used Mexican taxpayers’ money to pay for your son’s upkeep with luxurious hotel accommodations,” and concluded:
“Stop treating Mexicans like fools and return the money you embezzled.”
She also questioned the contrast with the health crisis in Mexico:
“While parents were begging for medicine for their children, yours was being kept in English opulence.”
The senator closed with a phrase that summarized the tone of her message:
“Morena has now unlocked a new level of cynicism.”
