Next Monday, the Zacatecas Intermunicipal Water and Sewerage Board (JIAPAZ) will suspend water service in more than 30 neighborhoods and areas in Zacatecas, Morelos, and Vetagrande to carry out four interconnections that will allow the commissioning of a renovated section of the La Joya Water Supply System, benefiting 45,000 homes with updated infrastructure.
JIAPAZ will carry out four interconnections to put into operation a renovated section of the La Joya Water Supply System, which will require suspending service in more than 30 neighborhoods and areas of the capital, Morelos, and Vetagrande.
The new pipeline is located between Paseo Díaz Ordaz and Constitución Street, passing through Quebradilla Avenue, and is part of the complete renovation of the main line.
The Board’s Distribution Director, Jorge Nava de León, explained that these planned works will replace obsolete infrastructure, some over 60 years old, and provide greater service reliability to 45,000 homes in 41 neighborhoods.
To carry out these works, it will be necessary to shut down the wells of the La Joya System on Monday. Therefore, the official recommended that residents of the following areas and neighborhoods conserve their water reserves:

Caminera
Lomas de la Soledad
Sierra de Álica
Upper part of La Minera
Bancomer
Privada Asís
Lázaro Cárdenas
Frente Popular
