Multidisciplinary artist Karen Ochoa has been appointed the new director of the San Luis Potosí International Film Festival, marking a new chapter in her career focused on artistic creation as a tool for encounter and collective construction.
With a career encompassing photography, film, literature, acting, and gymnastics, Karen Ochoa has established a profile with a presence both nationally and internationally, distinguished by her ability to move between different creative languages.
In the literary field, she has published four poetry collections and participated in eight international anthologies, developing a voice that connects the intimate with the collective. In 2016, she became the youngest poet ever selected for the International Meeting of Women Poets, where she participated continuously until 2019.
Her work has been presented at venues such as the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), the Mexico City International Book Fair (FILEM), the FILMTY International Film Festival, and the University Book Fair (FUL), expanding her reach to diverse audiences.
In parallel, she has developed an audiovisual career that includes directing short films and music videos, in addition to her work as a producer and photographer, integrating an interdisciplinary narrative vision.
Her appointment as head of the San Luis Potosí International Film Festival raises expectations focused on expanding platforms for local talent, as well as forging connections with other creative scenes in the country.
Furthermore, her experience includes promoting the national literary event in San Luis Potosí, strengthening her role as a cultural manager and promoter of spaces for artistic collaboration.
