The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) announced that a demonstration by the Mexican Cannabis Movement is scheduled for this Saturday, May 2nd. They will depart from the Palace of Fine Arts at 2:00 PM and march to the Angel of Independence.
They will march for World Marijuana Liberation Day in Mexico, demanding free and universal access to cannabis, the right to home cultivation, respect for all uses of the plant, and an end to the harassment of cannabis users.
The Ecos del Río Collective will gather at the Magdalena Atlitic Tourist Market in the Magdalena Contreras borough at 11:00 AM. They will hold a cultural event focused on the care and defense of the river and forest in the Magdalena Contreras borough.
The Revolutionary Union of Art Workers will meet at 12:00 PM at the San Fernando Pantheon Museum. They will hold a political and cultural event to commemorate the birth of Karl Marx, philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and communist revolutionary.
The Plataforma 420 group will gather at noon at the Monument to the Mother in the Cuauhtémoc borough. They will carry out various cultural and artistic activities and set up a mobile information table to demand dignified treatment, the right to cultivate cannabis for personal use, and the free possession of cannabis in shared spaces under equal rights before the law.
At 2:00 p.m., at the Glorieta de los Insurgentes roundabout, Laboratorio 420 will hold a mobile event to collect signatures, promote cannabis rights, conduct harm reduction workshops, and offer informational talks on human rights and legislation.
