Motorists who drive daily in the city of Querétaro could be ticketed if their vehicle lacks certain identification elements required by the municipal traffic regulations.
What document must be displayed on the windshield?
These include the Vehicle Registration Certificate (Repuve), as well as the corresponding chip and hologram, which must be visible on the vehicle. City traffic rules state that the Repuve sticker must be affixed to the front windshield of the vehicle to facilitate verification.
If this sticker is missing or obscured, authorities may issue a fine.
What is the fine for not having the Repuve hologram?
The current regulations stipulate fines equivalent to 20 to 30 times the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA) for those who fail to comply with this requirement, meaning between $2,346 and $3,519 pesos. It’s worth mentioning that this procedure is free of charge, so you can request it for free.
