Mazatlán is the leader in meetings tourism in Northwest Mexico

With 54 events held from January to date, including congresses and conventions, registering an attendance of over 64,000 people and an economic impact exceeding 1.128 billion pesos, Mazatlán is the leader in meetings tourism in Northwest Mexico.

The state Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, emphasized that this sector strengthens economic development and promotes innovation and sustainability in the region.

“Mazatlán boasts world-class tourism infrastructure and services, in addition to the hospitality that distinguishes us Mazatlecos. The goal is to create unique experiences to further solidify Mazatlán and the state as world-class destinations in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segment,” she stated.

During the month of May, Mazatlán will offer a diverse range of international sporting and corporate events.

This week, the Mexi Log surf festival is taking place, with over 160 participants from 35 countries. From May 6th to 10th, the Mazatlán Soccer Cup will be held, featuring more than 250 teams from various states across the country.

From May 11th to 15th, the Grupo Lala Convention will be held, with over 250 attendees. From May 15th to 18th, Truck Week is scheduled, expected to draw more than 20,000 people.

Additionally, from May 29th to 31st, the Pacific Ink Master tattoo and art event will take place, with over 600 participants. On May 30th, the Vive Mazatlán Taekwondo Cup will be held, with over 100 competitors, among other congresses, events, and conventions.

In this way, the meetings industry in the port city and the state reaffirms its position as a strategic pillar of the state economy. In 2025, Sinaloa closed with 191 events, more than 322,000 attendees and a record figure of 3.4 billion pesos in economic benefits for the region.
