With the goal of coordinating preparations for one of the municipality’s most important sporting and tourism events, to be held from May 22 to 24, the Isla Mujeres government, led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, established the Organizing Committee for the 21st Cosme Alberto Martínez Magaña International Fishing Tournament.
The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Economic Development and Tourism, Eyder Jahil Hoth Pérez, and the City Council Secretary, Hugo Iván Sánchez Montalvo, who emphasized that this tournament strengthens sports tourism and continues to position Isla Mujeres as a leading destination in the Mexican Caribbean.
During the committee’s establishment, municipal authorities coordinated logistical and operational actions to provide better service to participants and visitors, as well as to strengthen tourism promotion and economic benefits for island families.
The Municipal Government reiterated its commitment to continue promoting events that foster traditions, family togetherness, and pride in Isla Mujeres.
