On World Turtle Day, Michoacán reaffirms its ecological leadership as a sanctuary, as “the soul of Mexico” is home to three of the seven marine turtle species that inhabit the planet.
According to a press release, the State Tourism Secretariat (Sectur), headed by Roberto Monroy García, highlighted that the olive ridley, black, and leatherback turtles find the Michoacán coast the ideal nesting ground year after year. This natural phenomenon makes the state a national benchmark for nature tourism and environmental preservation.
