Through a collaboration with Google Maps, singer Dua Lipa and her platform Service95, which she describes as a “cultural concierge service,” published 12 curated lists featuring her favorite places to eat, drink, visit, go on dates, and buy books around the world.
As a frequent traveler, Dua Lipa includes recommendations in cities such as London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and, of course, Mexico City, one of her favorite destinations.
Under the title “Dua Lipa’s List: Must-See Mexico City,” her Mexico City guide includes 12 locations. Among them are three cultural attractions—the Museo Tamayo, the Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul), and the Casa Luis Barragán—as well as the nightlife venue Club San Luis.
Dua Lipa’s Favorite Places to Eat in Mexico City
Contramar
Dua begins her recommended itinerary at chef Gabriela Cámara’s restaurant Contramar.
She says that whenever she lands in Mexico City, she heads straight there for aguachile and the restaurant’s famous tuna tostadas, accompanied by a hibiscus mezcal cocktail.
“Start there and build the rest of the day around it. Everything else in Mexico City makes more sense after you’ve been to Contramar.”

Em
Owned by chef Lucho Martínez and awarded a Michelin star, Em is Dua Lipa’s recommendation for plant-based cuisine in Mexico City.
“Em is Lucho Martínez doing what he does best: taking Mexican ingredients seriously and creating something completely original with them. It’s probably the most exciting vegetable-focused cooking I’ve ever tried. You won’t miss the meat.”

Café Tormenta
The list continues with Café Tormenta, a street-style coffee shop serving specialty coffee sourced from regions such as Chiapas and Veracruz. Music is an important part of the atmosphere.
“Tormenta gets my vote for the best drinks and locally inspired Mexican pastries. Try the local craft sodas to discover something you won’t find anywhere else.”
Máximo
The restaurant owned by chefs Lalo García and Gabriela López also made the list.
“Máximo feels like the kind of restaurant that defines the city’s cuisine. The cooking is technically brilliant but never feels cold or distant. It’s a farm-to-table concept with real personality. The bone marrow alone is worth the visit.”
Pujol
Founded by chef Enrique Olvera, Pujol is one of the most celebrated restaurants in Mexico and holds two Michelin stars.
“Pujol is simply one of the best restaurants in the world. The mole madre has been aging for years and is a perfect representation of Mexican cuisine.”
Tacos del Valle
After a night out, Dua’s preferred taco stop is Tacos del Valle, located inside Pasaje Parián and also recommended by the Michelin Guide Mexico.
“Tacos del Valle is where you go late when the night has been long and you need something delicious. It’s my favorite late-night taco spot in the city. My favorite is the suadero taco.”

Dua Lipa’s Favorite Bars in Mexico City
Hanky Panky Cocktail Bar
Hidden behind a secret entrance in the Juárez neighborhood, this speakeasy ranked among North America’s 50 Best Bars.
“Hanky Panky is a speakeasy cocktail bar that’s definitely worth the small effort of finding the door. The mezcal cocktails are among the best I’ve had anywhere. It’s small, intimate, and perfect for the last part of the night.”

Le Tachinomi Desu
Part of the restaurant group led by Edo Kobayashi, Le Tachinomi Desu is a Japanese-style standing bar with a minimalist design and an extensive selection of sake, whiskey, and wine.
“Le Tachinomi Desu is a Japanese standing bar in the middle of Mexico City—something that shouldn’t work as well as it does. Great sake, excellent snacks, and one of those perfect surprises that completely captures the spirit of Mexico City.”
