The mayor of Querétaro, Felifer Macías, accompanied by the mayor of Guanajuato, Samantha Smith Gutiérrez, toured the exhibition “The Mummies of Guanajuato in Querétaro: Echoes of Eternity,” which will remain on display throughout June at the Mercado Artesanal (Artisan Market), located at Ignacio Allende Sur #20, in the city’s Historic Center.
Felifer Macías emphasized that “Echoes of Eternity” represents an opportunity for families in Querétaro to experience one of the country’s most renowned cultural attractions firsthand, through replicas of the Guanajuato Mummies and the stories that form part of their legacy.
“Surely we’ve all heard of the famous mummies of Guanajuato… Well, today we have a big surprise, because if you’ve ever wanted to see these famous mummies of Guanajuato, now you can do so here in Querétaro, because we are presenting an exhibition of replicas of the Guanajuato mummies,” said Felifer Macías, mayor of Querétaro.
He invited the people of Querétaro to visit this exhibition, which is free and open to the public from June 1st to July 1st. Visitors will be able to learn the stories and legends surrounding each of the mummies, as well as appreciate meticulously crafted replicas of some of Guanajuato’s most emblematic pieces.
The exhibition “The Mummies of Guanajuato in Querétaro: Echoes of Eternity” can be visited Monday through Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Mercado Artesanal (Craft Market). In addition to touring the exhibit, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the rich cultural heritage of Querétaro and support the work of local artisans.
The mayor of Guanajuato, Samantha Smith, noted that this exhibit, located in the Artisan Market, reflects how culture brings people together and strengthens the bonds of collaboration and friendship between the two cities.
