With the aim of expanding Jalisco’s connectivity options to strategic destinations within Mexico and the United States—thereby boosting the arrival of new visitors and generating greater opportunities for economic and tourism development—the Government of Jalisco announced 10 new routes launched by Volaris.

Through the Secretariat of Tourism, and in coordination with the airline, authorities were present for the commencement of operations for these new connections, which will depart from Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. This expansion represents a significant step forward resulting from the collaboration between the State Government and Volaris to increase Jalisco’s presence in priority destinations and facilitate access to its main attractions.

During a ceremony held at Guadalajara International Airport, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place for the Guadalajara–Salt Lake City flight—one of the services that began operations on Monday, June 1—alongside six other connections departing from the Jalisco state capital and three more from Puerto Vallarta.

From Guadalajara, Volaris now offers flights to Salt Lake City, Detroit, Reynosa, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, and Los Mochis. Meanwhile, from Puerto Vallarta, the airline provides direct links to Aguascalientes, Puebla, and San Luis Potosí.

The expansion of Jalisco’s air connectivity also extends to strategic international markets such as Seattle; the route connecting Seattle with Guadalajara marks its tenth anniversary of Volaris operations this year. Through these efforts, the airline seeks to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector, foster commercial exchange, and enhance mobility for leisure, business, and meetings travelers.

In the context of this commemoration, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, highlighted that Seattle has established itself as one of the most important markets for the State on the U.S. West Coast.

For ten years, this route has contributed to strengthening tourism, cultural, and economic ties between the two regions, while also showcasing the cultural richness of Jalisco—and of Mexico—to the world.

The official noted that this anniversary coincides with an increased flight offering between the two destinations. Currently, Volaris operates two daily flights between Guadalajara and Seattle, while in the coming weeks, Aeroméxico is set to add a new daily frequency. Added to this are the connections maintained by Delta and Alaska Airlines between Seattle and Puerto Vallarta.

Taken together, these operations amount to more than 30 weekly flights between Seattle and Jalisco, thereby strengthening the flow of visitors, economic activity, and exchange between the two regions.

Participants in the event included María del Rocío Lancaster Jones, the State’s Director of Tourism Marketing, representing the Government of Jalisco; Gustavo Staufert, Executive Director of the Guadalajara Visitors and Convention Bureau; Nanci Aidé Gálaviz, Volaris’s Market Development Manager for Mexico; and Jorge Cabrera, CWW Trade Account Manager for Salt Lake City in Mexico.

“The addition of these services strengthens Jalisco’s presence in key destinations for tourism, business, and investment, while also consolidating the State as one of the country’s leading air connectivity hubs,” the Government of Jalisco concluded in a statement.
