Elements of the Investigative Police for Corruption Crimes executed an arrest warrant against Claudia Josefina “N”, former Director of Legal and Labor Affairs for the Durango State Department of Education (SEED), for her alleged involvement in the crime of misuse of public office.
Authorities reported that the former official is accused of acts related to a contract for 8,846,972 pesos, intended for the development of software called the Comprehensive Information System for the Management of Personnel Services.
The investigation indicates that Claudia Josefina “N” officially received the documentation and deliverables derived from said contract; however, she allegedly concealed the information in her custody, keeping it out of the institution’s reach and access.
This situation reportedly prevented the Durango State Department of Education from using the computer system for which the contract was awarded, hindering the agency’s ability to utilize the technological tool developed for it.
Claudia Josefina “N” is placed at the disposal of the judicial authority
Following her arrest, the accused was placed at the disposal of the corresponding judicial authority, which will be responsible for determining her legal status in accordance with the law.
Authorities specified that the crime she is accused of is stipulated and penalized by Article 326, Section V, of the current Penal Code for the State of Durango.
Claudia Josefina “N” is considered innocent and will be treated as such throughout all stages of the process, until a final judgment is issued by a competent judicial authority determining her guilt.
