Members of the Sindicato Único de Trabajadores del Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Guerrero (Sutcobach) have elected new union leadership; María Isabel Cruz Marquínez will serve as their leader for the next four years.

Voting took place on Wednesday at 86 polling stations set up across the state.

A total of 1,476 workers participated in the election, with 1,425 voting for Isabel Cruz as the new General Secretary for the 2026–2030 term.

The new leader will be sworn in at the Ordinary General Congress in Chilpancingo in the coming days.

María Isabel Cruz affirmed that Sutcobach will continue its path of protests and social demonstrations in support of workers and other social causes—such as those championed by the Coordinadora Estatal de los Trabajadores de la Educación (CETEG).

Support will also extend to the parents of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa students, collectives searching for missing persons, Radio Universidad Pueblo, and other causes.
