Security personnel from all three levels of government rescued a 17-year-old girl who had been abducted; one man has been detained. The victim was located in the community of La Cuevita, in the municipality of Apaseo el Alto.
The operation involved the State Public Security Forces (FSPE), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), and the municipal security departments of Jerécuaro and Apaseo el Alto.
“The participating units activated protocols for victim care and protection to safeguard her physical well-being and ensure appropriate institutional support,” reported the Secretariat of Security and Peace.
The agency announced that the detained man was identified as Heriberto, 38, a resident of Apaseo el Alto. He was found in possession of a handgun, 11 live rounds of ammunition, nine bags of marijuana, a bag containing 75 doses of crystal methamphetamine, and a 1993 Chevrolet vehicle.
“The teenager was referred for the care and protection mandated by law, while the detainee, the weapon, the substances, and the vehicle were turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE),” the agency stated.
