Sixteen new franchises have opened in Sonora, primarily focused on food and beverages, distribution, and beauty, thanks to the constant stream of music concerts in Hermosillo, according to Víctor Manuel Romo Gerardo, president of the Northern Mexico Franchise Association (Afranor).

The leader reported that the music events have boosted the state capital’s economy, sparking interest in opening new businesses this year.

“This has attracted the interest of many businesses and franchises in the Sonora market, especially in Hermosillo, in the food and beverage, distribution, and beauty sectors,” he pointed out.

This year, he mentioned the following franchises opened: Syana, a distributor of beauty cosmetics; Bobba and Co., a beverage company; Paty Valenzuela, a beauty salon; Monchi Box, a food store; La Salsa Taquería; and Papelería Dany.

Also included are DA Psicointegral, Dogos el Compadre, Refriauto, Tabú Sushi, My Clinic, and Taste, each with one unit, while ENC Solar Panels, Mr. Clark, Econollantas, and La Reyna Pastelerías each have four.

All of these businesses opened indirectly due to the influx of cash. “The entrepreneur has put in even more effort in this prevailing situation, so yes, fortunately, so many events have led to an increase in franchise openings and franchise developments as well,” he emphasized.

Romo Gerardo indicated that, in general, the sectors where franchises have grown the most are food, distribution, and beauty.

Currently, there are a total of 166 franchises, and some of them have a presence in North and Central America.

“The new ones are right here; they grew regionally, in Ciudad Obregón, in Nogales, and right now we are organizing different trade missions in Los Cabos, La Paz, and Tijuana, since we had a very successful event in Tijuana last February,” he concluded.
