Traffic in the Puebla metropolitan area began to normalize after the removal of various roadblocks and closures by truckers affiliated with AMOTAC, which for several hours had affected access to Atlixco, Huejotzingo, and the Mexico-Puebla highway.

The vehicles withdrew after the protesters themselves confirmed the existence of a signed agreement with the federal government, which led to the decision to end the protests and allow the reopening of the roads.

At the Puebla-Atlixco highway tollbooth, where a complete closure had been maintained in both directions using cargo trucks placed across the road, traffic was fully restored after the vehicles were removed, allowing for the gradual reopening of traffic flow until it returned to normal.

Simultaneously, on the Federal Highway to Huejotzingo, near Juan C. Bonilla, truckers who had been maintaining intermittent blockades also began removing their vehicles, allowing for the continuous reopening of the road after a blockade scheme that operated for several hours with intervals of closure and reopening.

Meanwhile, on the Mexico-Puebla highway, near the intersection with Hermanos Serdán Boulevard, the cargo trucks that had been completely blocking traffic heading towards Veracruz were removed, restoring traffic flow at one of the main traffic hubs in the city of Puebla. State Police officers remained present to assist in clearing the blockade.

The AMOTAC mobilization was part of a national strike by the transportation sector that caused simultaneous disruptions in various states across the country on Wednesday, with demands focused on highway safety, combating extortion, and reviewing operational conditions.

In this context, the Mexican government announced in a statement that a meeting was held with representatives of AMOTAC, led by the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, and the Undersecretary of the Interior, César Yáñez Centeno Cabrera. During the meeting, a work plan and a strategy for addressing their demands were established, after which the organization reportedly agreed to call off the protests.

In Puebla, the blockades occurred simultaneously on several fronts, but with the gradual clearing of the blockades, traffic began to return to normal as the vehicles were removed.

Authorities advised motorists to remain alert to road conditions, although traffic has now been restored to all reported locations.
