Mayte Rivera argued that her abstention on the donation of municipal land to the State of Puebla was due to the lack of technical expertise in the Cablebús project.

In an interview, the Morena party councilwoman explained that the file presented to the council members last week does not offer the necessary legal or institutional certainty.

Rivera Vivanco clarified that the lack of transparency in the process makes it impossible to take a position for or against at this time.

However, she conditioned a change in her position on the State Government formally delivering the completed technical files and feasibility studies.

Therefore, it was an abstention, simply due to the lack of complete expertise. “Or I didn’t feel entirely confident in the validity of the document that was presented.”

The councilwoman emphasized that it is not institutionally responsible to comment on an infrastructure project whose fundamental details remain unclear. This statement was made before the reviewing committees and the public.

Mayte Rivera warned that approving the transfer of land “blindly” to the State for the construction of the Puebla Cablebús compromises the municipality’s responsibility.

In that regard, she acknowledged the high social and media expectations generated by the arrival of the infrastructure project under the State Government.

The City Council’s approval places four parcels of land, located in key, high-traffic areas of the city of Puebla, under state control.

The first of these spaces includes the Library Park, located on Diagonal Defensores de la República, with an area of 6,721.9768 square meters.

Likewise, Juárez Park, located on Boulevard 5 and Cerro Amalucan, with an area of 2,000 square meters. 999,903 square meters.

The City Council finally approved a property located at the corner of 11th South Avenue and Las Margaritas Avenue, granting it to the State for the Cablebús (cable car system).

Since this is only a temporary land transfer, the state mobility and infrastructure project will have to continue its independent procedures.
