In a major operation involving the governing structures of the Morena administration in the State of Mexico, federal agents executed an arrest warrant on Thursday against Lino “N”, who served as General Government Coordinator for the Toluca Valley and South-Southeast regions of the State of Mexico. The former official is under investigation for his alleged involvement in serious crimes and suspected links to organized crime cartels.

The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Extortion Unit of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) of the federal government. The operation has drawn attention to the alleged infiltration of organized crime into political and public service institutions in the State of Mexico.

Organized Crime and Alleged Connections in the South

According to the initial investigation, Lino “N” is formally being investigated for express kidnapping and organized crime as part of Operation Enjambre. Intelligence reports also indicate that the suspect allegedly maintained direct ties with members of a criminal organization originating in the state of Michoacán, a group that reportedly has a strong presence and significant influence in the southern region of the State of Mexico.

Because of his government position, which included responsibility for governance in the Toluca Valley and the south-southeast region, federal authorities are investigating the extent of his alleged activities and whether his office facilitated the criminal organization’s operations in those areas.

Transfer to Santiaguito Prison

Following his arrest, the former official was immediately placed at the disposal of the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM) to undergo the corresponding prosecutorial procedures.

He was later transferred under strict security measures to the Santiaguito Social Reintegration Center, located in the municipality of Almoloya de Juárez. He will remain there under the authority of the competent judicial body, which will conduct his initial hearing and determine his legal status in the coming hours.

Investigation Remains Confidential

As of the time of this report, both federal and state authorities have kept the details of the criminal case under strict confidentiality. Consequently, the full extent of the alleged criminal network and the number of kidnapping victims potentially connected to the accused have not been publicly disclosed.

Statement by Government Secretary Horacio Duarte

Through an official statement posted on his social media accounts, State Government Secretary Horacio Duarte Olivares addressed the arrest of his subordinate, Lino Rodríguez González. Duarte stated that the arrest, carried out by federal security authorities, is “another example of combating improper practices within the state government.”

He reaffirmed the Morena administration’s commitment to fighting corruption and promoting accountability, stating that the state government will continue to cooperate fully and exchange information with judicial authorities under the principle of ensuring integrity and ethical conduct among all public servants in the State of Mexico.
