A large deployment of federal, state, and ministerial forces took place this Saturday in San José Cuyachapa, on the Puebla-Orizaba highway corridor between Puebla and Veracruz, as part of an operation to locate tractor-trailers, merchandise, and auto parts suspected of being stolen.
The raids were carried out at various properties identified as possible storage locations for cargo trucks, generating tension among community residents, who even threatened to block the highway if the searches continued.
The area is considered a hotspot for the constant theft of cargo trucks, a crime that has plagued truckers traveling along this important highway corridor for years.
