Chinese Ambassador to Mexico praises Chiapas during his visit to Congress

Congresswoman Alejandra Gómez Mendoza and Congressman Mario Guillén Guillén, presidents of the Board of Directors and the Political Coordination Board, respectively, of the Chiapas Congress, received His Excellency Mr. Chen Daojiang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mexico, as part of the parliamentary outreach efforts promoted by the Legislative Branch.

Ambassador Chen Daojiang stated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen economic cooperation and promote industrial development in Chiapas, as well as to foster commercial, educational, and cultural cooperation.

He mentioned that Chiapas has several archaeological sites and the Maya Train, which represents enormous potential for China. He also highlighted agricultural products such as coffee and mangoes, and the Port of Chiapas, which represents a development hub with great potential for both Mexico and China.

For Chiapas, the Speaker of the House, Alejandra Gómez Mendoza, emphasized that the visit is part of the Sixty-Ninth Legislature’s global political agenda, which promotes these types of actions to help build international bridges that strengthen development, cultural exchange, and new opportunities for both countries. All of this is in accordance with the public policies of the Fourth Transformation.

Meanwhile, Representative Mario Guillén Guillén stated that the State Congress maintains a deep interest in forging cooperative ties that promote the well-being of the people of Chiapas.

The actions promoted by the Legislative Branch reflect its commitment to fostering the economic development of our state, promoting investment, trade, our culture, and tourism.

Present at the meeting, held in the Auditorium of Humanism, were the representatives of the Sixty-Ninth Legislature, the Embassy delegation, as well as state and municipal authorities.
