Aguascalientes and Zacatecas are strengthening security through the SAGAZ Interinstitutional Operation (Aguascalientes-Zacatecas Security), which maintains a permanent deployment in the border area between the two states to reinforce surveillance.
The strategy also aims to prevent crime, strengthen coordination among security agencies, and provide greater peace of mind to families living in the border region.
The State Secretary of Public Security, Antonio Martínez Romo, reported that the operation includes permanent patrols and coordinated actions among the three levels of government.
He also noted that the operational presence has been reinforced along the borders with other states, especially Zacatecas, as well as at the five Security Gates of Aguascalientes.

The official added that, in recent hours, elements of the State Secretariat of Public Security, in coordination with the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the State Attorney General’s Office, intensified patrols and established checkpoints on highways, rural roads, and trails.
The operations are concentrated primarily in the municipalities of Cosío, Tepezalá, Asientos, and El Llano, where the Fuerza Uno helicopter is also providing support, conducting strategic overflights to expand surveillance coverage and strengthen the response capacity of law enforcement agencies.
Martínez Romo emphasized that the permanent presence of security forces at strategic points allows for greater control of access points to the state and deters criminal activity.
Finally, he reiterated that the safety of the people of Aguascalientes is a priority for the State Government, and therefore, coordinated efforts with federal, state, and municipal authorities will continue to preserve peace and order.
