A semi-truck rollover this Saturday near the town of San Julián has resulted in the closure of the Veracruz-Cardel highway, where authorities and emergency crews are working to remove the vehicle and restore traffic flow.
According to initial reports, the lane heading toward Cardel remains closed, causing long lines of vehicles and bringing traffic to a standstill along that stretch of the highway.
Faced with the traffic congestion, some motorists are attempting to drive in the opposite direction to avoid the wait—a maneuver that carries a high risk of accidents and endangers both other drivers and the personnel working at the scene.
Authorities have urged users of the Veracruz-Cardel highway to heed the instructions of operational staff and wait for the truck removal operations to conclude, in order to prevent further incidents and allow traffic to resume safely.
