While the number of jobs registered with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) reached a record high nationwide, in the Yucatán Peninsula, growth was only seen in Quintana Roo, with an increase of just 0.1 percent. In contrast, Yucatán registered a decrease of 0.8 percent, and Campeche reported the second largest drop nationally, with 2.5 percent fewer jobs, second only to Guerrero, which experienced a 3.6 percent reduction.
As of June 30, the IMSS reported 22,779,724 jobs, “the third highest figure on record and the highest ever for the month of June.” Of the total, 86.9 percent correspond to permanent jobs and 13.1 percent to temporary positions.
However, this growth was not reflected in 14 states, which reported decreases in formal employment, including Yucatán and Campeche. In contrast, Quintana Roo ranked last among the states with growth, with an increase of just 0.1 percent. The list was topped by the State of Mexico, with a 7.4 percent increase; Mexico City, with 6.1 percent; and Baja California, with 5.4 percent.
At the close of the first half of the year, 1,663,147 people benefited from the reform regarding digital platforms. Of these, 237,627 were registered by 18 digital platforms as workers, which allows them access to all the insurance benefits offered by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

In the case of self-employed workers (PTI), 445,069 registrations were recorded, representing 729,468 IMSS beneficiaries. Under this scheme, the average daily wage was 369.7 pesos.
