The state of Sinaloa is captivating thousands of visitors this summer holiday season.
Projections estimate an average hotel occupancy rate of 73 percent across the state, with the port city of Mazatlán standing out; it is expected to reach 80 percent capacity.
Mireya Sosa Osuna, the state Secretary of Tourism, highlighted that this holiday period is one of the most dynamic times for the local economy, thanks to the large influx of tourists spread across the various municipalities.
“At the Secretariat of Tourism, we have been working hard on national tourism promotion, so we are very optimistic about this summer; the tourism and economic reactivation for the entire state will be significant,” stated Sosa Osuna.
The official noted that connectivity plays a fundamental role in this flow of visitors, as the majority of domestic tourists arrive in Sinaloa by road, facilitating travel to different parts of the state.
Aiming to diversify tourism offerings beyond traditional destinations, Sosa Osuna extended a warm invitation to those who have not yet planned their vacations to discover the state’s cultural, natural, and gastronomic richness.
For those seeking sun and beach, options include Mazatlán, El Maviri, Angostura, Guasave, Ahome, Altata, and Celestino Gasca, as well as Escuinapa and Teacapán.
Also notable are Surutato and Los Mochis, along with the five “Pueblos Mágicos” (Magical Towns)—Cosalá, El Fuerte, El Rosario, Mocorito, and San Ignacio—and twelve “Pueblos Señoriales” (Stately Towns) that preserve the region’s identity and history.
The official emphasized that, under the vision and leadership of Governor Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde, the Secretariat of Tourism is working constantly to solidify tourism not merely as a source of recreation, but as a true engine of economic development and social well-being for all Sinaloan families. “We look forward to welcoming you to Sinaloa with open arms,” the official emphasized, reiterating the State Government’s commitment to providing a safe, hospitable, and world-class experience for all travelers.
