What Can You Find at the Wild Mushroom Fair and When Will It Take Place?

The Regional Fair of Wild Mushrooms in San Antonio Cuajimoloyas will take place on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026, as part of the celebrations of Oaxaca’s biggest cultural festival, the Guelaguetza.

During the fair, you will have the opportunity to explore incredible forests filled with towering trees surrounded by mist, creating the perfect setting for spectacular photographs while collecting the different species of fungi you discover along the trails.

You will also be able to taste the traditional cuisine of this mountainous region, featuring a wide variety of recipes and dishes prepared with the edible mushroom species that grow naturally in the area.

In addition, the event offers visitors the chance to purchase authentic regional products made by local producers, especially natural honey.

What Places Can You Visit in San Antonio Cuajimoloyas?

Besides enjoying the enchanting forest landscapes that characterize this small Zapotec community, Cuajimoloyas is home to one of the most exciting adventure attractions in the Sierra Norte: the longest zip line in Oaxaca.

If you enjoy extreme activities, this is an experience you should not miss. The zip line begins at Yaa-Cuetzi Hill and stretches for one kilometer, offering breathtaking views from high above the forest.

The ecotourism destination also features a suspension bridge that stands 40 meters high and extends 136 meters long. Visitors can also enjoy horseback riding, rent mountain bikes to explore the forest trails, or even spend the night camping.
