During this summer vacation period, the Morelia “Francisco J. Múgica” Airport is consolidating its strategic position in the economic and tourism development of Michoacán by offering direct flights to 18 national and international destinations. This air infrastructure has facilitated the arrival of more than 772,000 passengers to the state from January to June of this year alone, making it easier for both domestic and international visitors to reach the various regions of the state.
When assessing the impact of these figures, Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla highlighted that the airport maintains direct routes to key U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, Ontario, Sacramento, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. Domestically, the network includes strategic connections to Mexico City, Monterrey, Tijuana, Mexicali, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa, a network that strengthens the flow of travelers to the main local attractions during this peak season.
The state governor emphasized the state’s readiness to welcome tourists with a rich cultural and historical offering concentrated in its 10 Magical Towns, renowned for their architectural monuments and traditional cuisine. He also highlighted that the state’s coastline boasts 12 beach destinations ready for tourism, including Maruata, Nexpa, Faro de Bucerías, Las Brisas, San Juan de Alima, Boca de Apiza, Playa Jardín, Playa Azul, Las Peñas, Chuquiapan, La Soledad, and Caleta de Campos.
This transportation infrastructure aims to ensure quick and convenient access for visitors during the summer season, boosting the local economy and benefiting local communities.
