A formal complaint has been filed with the Tabasco Secretariat for Anti-Corruption and Good Government against the State Secretariat of Tourism and Economic Development over alleged serious administrative misconduct and the suspected diversion of more than 107 million pesos allocated for organizing the Tabasco Fair 2026.
The legal action was submitted by federal deputy Erubiel Alonso Que, who accused officials within the state tourism agency of abuse of authority, improper contracting of the fair’s entertainment lineup, and alleged violations of the principles of legality, economic efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
According to the legislator, the Secretariat of Tourism deliberately withheld information regarding the use of public funds allocated for the fair’s entertainment events, claiming there is clear evidence of irregularities.
“I am in a position to say that I have documents proving that the budget allocated for the fair has been stolen,” Alonso Que said after submitting the complaint to the oversight agency.
The federal deputy also stated that he will closely monitor the administrative and legal proceedings to ensure that any responsible parties are held accountable.
“We want to see the Tabasco government act with transparency and accountability, and remove and prosecute those responsible,” he said.
