According to initial reports, the 911 emergency line received calls alerting authorities to multiple gunshots, prompting an immediate response from the Secretariat of Citizen Security, whose officers deployed to the scene to bring the situation under control.
Upon arrival, police found a person suffering from gunshot wounds; paramedics provided pre-hospital care before transporting the individual to a hospital. As of now, neither the victim’s identity nor their medical condition has been disclosed.
During the operation, uniformed officers established a security perimeter along a stretch of Fifth Avenue, restricting pedestrian and tourist access while the scene was preserved and the necessary investigative procedures were carried out.
Preliminary reports indicate that one person was detained by authorities in connection with the incident; however, the investigation will determine their potential involvement in the attack.
The area remained under police guard while forensic experts documented ballistic evidence and other materials to be included in the investigation file. Investigative agents began initial interviews to establish the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
