Construction of the highway connecting San Juan del Río to the Arco Norte (Northern Ring Road) will begin in 2027, as announced by Carlos García Villaseñor, the delegate of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation in Querétaro.
He indicated that the project comprises several phases. The first phase will run from the Arco Norte to Palmillas, and from there it will connect to the city of Querétaro in the second phase. The final phase will connect the city of Querétaro with San Luis Potosí.
“It’s a section of the Arco Norte highway; it essentially starts in Tula, reaches Palmillas, and from Palmillas goes to Querétaro, and from Querétaro to San Luis Potosí. (…) We’ll begin in February of next year,” García Villaseñor stated.
García Villaseñor commented that this highway will be important because he believes it will significantly reduce traffic, particularly heavy transport, on the Mexico-Querétaro federal highway. He indicated that construction will begin in February of next year.
It is worth remembering that this project was presented at the morning press conference of the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, where it was noted that this project will have an investment of 24 billion pesos, which they estimate will be used daily by 13,500 vehicles and that its construction will be completed in June 2029.
