With Courage, Truck Driver Rams His Truck into Criminals to Avoid Robbery on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca Highway

A truck driver thwarted an attempted robbery by ramming the vehicle his assailants were traveling in.
The incident occurred Wednesday night on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway, at kilometer 98+200. Armed men in a maroon Renault blocked the truck’s path, firing shots to force it to stop.
Refusing the attack, the driver accelerated and rammed his truck into them, hitting the car. The action forced the criminals to flee on foot, abandoning their vehicle.
Motorists traveling through the area alerted emergency services. Paramedics from CAPUFE arrived at the scene and confirmed that the driver was unharmed, although the cargo truck sustained significant damage.
The National Guard arrived shortly afterward but was unable to locate the assailants. This incident once again highlights the persistent insecurity on this highway, despite the announced operations to protect truckers. This occurred on Wednesday around 10:20 p.m.
