Representatives from the National Council of Tourism Service Exporters (CONEXSTUR) and companies specializing in inbound tourism toured various attractions and experiences in Morelos from July 28 to 31. This visit was part of a familiarization trip (Fam Trip) aimed at strengthening the promotion and marketing of the destination in international markets.

Secretary of Tourism Daniel Altafi Valladares highlighted that such initiatives allow travel designers and marketers to experience the state’s tourism offerings firsthand. This aligns with the policy promoted by Governor Margarita González Saravia to consolidate a tourism sector that fosters greater well-being and shared prosperity.

“We want every experience enjoyed by these operators to become an opportunity for more visitors to discover Morelos, stay longer in the state, and generate benefits for our communities and tourism service providers,” he stated.

The delegation was led by Birgit Grund, President of CONEXSTUR and a partner at Native Trails Mexico. This organization brings together inbound tour operators dedicated to promoting Mexican destinations abroad, thereby strengthening the link between Morelos’s tourism offerings and key international source markets.

Over the course of four days, participants explored around 20 attractions and experiences encompassing cultural heritage, community-based tourism, gastronomy, nature, wellness, and accommodation. The itinerary included visits to the Xochicalco Archaeological Zone, Jardines de México, and Las Estacas, as well as the former convents of Zacualpan de Amilpas, Yecapixtla, and Tepoztlán. It also featured temazcal sessions, traditional and contemporary cuisine, and workshops on cartonería (traditional papier-mâché craft), gardening, coffee, and cecina (cured beef) preparation. Representatives from companies such as Encuentro T, Julia Tours, Marcelletti, Native Trails, Mexico Finder, SAT México, Viajes de Gala, and Medio Trotamundos—among others involved in international tourism operations—participated in the event, establishing connections with local service providers to expand the inclusion of products from Morelos in their commercial offerings.
