Mexico City is preparing to host a free, large-scale public tribute dedicated to the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson, featuring a massive synchronized group dance of his iconic hit “Thriller”. The event is scheduled for August 29, coinciding with the date of the artist’s birth.
Location: Monumento a la Revolución (specifically on the side of the “Banca Jackson,” near the corner facing the Frontón México).
Date & Time: August 29 at 13:00 hours.
Cost: Completely free and open to all ages.
Participation: Attendees are encouraged to dress up as zombies or sport iconic looks inspired by Michael Jackson. No prior professional dance experience is required to join.
Workshops: Organized by the community Yo Sí Bailo, Michael Jackson, public practice sessions are held every Sunday leading up to the main event from 13:00 to 16:00 hours to help participants learn and polish the choreography.
