The Official Gazette of the Federation published the declaration establishing the Economic Development Hub for Well-Being: Cancún Financial and Technology District.
Governor Mara Lezama highlighted that the agreement represents a historic step for Quintana Roo, opening a new stage for attracting investment and generating better-paying jobs.
She recognized the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum and the Government of Mexico in making the project possible, which is no longer simply a strategic proposal but has now formally become a reality.
“This project means more and better jobs, opportunities for our young people, and a stronger, more diversified, and competitive economy,” Mara Lezama stated.
The hub will be the first in the country focused on services and will be based on key areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, financial services, and innovation, while also taking advantage of the talent of Quintana Roo’s population.
The governor stated that the project represents investment, jobs, talent, and well-being, with the goal of diversifying the state’s economy and moving toward what she described as “shared prosperity.
