Taxi runs over 16-year-old teenager in Gómez Palacio

A 16-year-old girl was injured after being struck by a taxi on Carlos Fuentes Boulevard, in front of the Ernesto Herrera neighborhood in Gómez Palacio.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the intersection of Carlos Fuentes Boulevard and 21 de Marzo Street, in the aforementioned residential area.

The injured teenager was identified as Michel Abigail, 16 years old.

The vehicle allegedly responsible was a 2010 white-and-red Nissan Tsuru taxi from the Ecoexpress taxi base, driven by a 39-year-old man identified as Jesús Gerardo.

According to security sources, the vehicle was traveling from east to west along Carlos Fuentes Boulevard. Upon reaching the intersection, the driver made a left turn and, during the maneuver, struck the pedestrian.

The teenager was thrown onto the pavement, where she remained lying with multiple injuries to her body.

Witnesses immediately requested the presence of emergency and security services by making multiple calls to the state 911 emergency system.

Paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross arrived at the scene to provide medical attention to the injured teenager.

Personnel from the Traffic and Road Safety Department’s Accident Investigation Division took charge of documenting the incident and preparing a report on what happened.

The taxi was impounded and taken to a municipal vehicle storage facility, where it will remain under the custody of the city authorities.

Finally, the case was referred to the competent authorities, who will be responsible for determining liability and continuing with the legal procedures established by law.
