The government of Querétaro has officially launched the second stage of its QroTaxi program, introducing a comprehensive initiative to grant 711 new taxi concessions across the state. Designed to improve public transportation services and support local operators, the application window remains open from August 17 through October 30, 2026.
The program offers substantial financial backing and structured support. Selected applicants will receive a new 2026 Nissan V-Drive vehicle priced at a preferential rate of 270,000 pesos, significantly reduced through manufacturer agreements and a 15,000-peso government subsidy. To ease the entry barrier, concessionaires face an initial concession payment of 15,133 pesos and a vehicle down payment of 15,837 pesos. The remaining balance can be financed over a 60-month period through Caja Gonzalo Vega, featuring a competitive monthly interest rate of 1.3 percent. Additionally, beneficiaries receive a waiver for their 2026 vehicle registration renewal fee alongside access to discounted insurance rates.
Distribution of the new units spans across the entire state to improve mobility in both urban and regional centers. The metropolitan area encompassing Querétaro, Corregidora, and El Marqués receives the largest share with 412 units, followed by 120 units for Pedro Escobedo, 64 for San Juan del Río, and the remaining 115 distributed among municipalities such as Tequisquiapan, Amealco, and Cadereyta.
Interested operators must complete their applications digitally via the official qrotaxi.live platform. Applicants are required to provide standard legal and administrative documents, proof of residency in the state for at least three years, a certificate of no criminal record, and a valid Type C driver’s license. This strategic rollout aims to modernize the local taxi fleet while creating reliable economic opportunities for transportation workers throughout the region.
