The Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico announced the construction of a new tourist corridor at the main entrance of the Jaguar Park and the Tulum archaeological zone, with construction scheduled to begin before the end of this year.
“Tulum Reborn” Strategy: The project is part of the actions promoted by the federal administration to reactivate the flow of tourism and improve the travel experience for visitors to the destination.
Mobility Improvements: The construction project includes the removal of current access booths and walls that obstruct transit, aiming to streamline and reorganize the entry of both domestic and international tourists.
Proper Spaces for Commerce: Adequate areas will be created so that local artisans, merchants, and organized tourism service providers can work under better conditions.
Potential Results: Just weeks after launching the comprehensive plan, authorities reported an increase of nearly 10 percent in visitor turnout.
Fees and Access: Authorities reminded the public that entry to the Jaguar Park remains completely free for those visiting exclusively for the beaches and public areas, while entrance to the archaeological zone retains its standard costs of 80 pesos for Mexican citizens and 265 pesos for foreign visitors (an amount that includes the Natural Protected Area fee).
