Baja California has positioned itself as the state in Mexico that provides the highest salaries to its police officers, with 29,500 pesos per month before taxes and deductions, according to the Secretary of Citizen Security, General Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, during the weekly “morning press conference” led by Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda.

The state official explained that this ranking is based on a national evaluation, supported by a publication issued on July 3 by the Secretariat of Citizen Security and by data presented before the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union in 2026, consolidating Baja California’s position as the state with the best salary conditions for law enforcement personnel.

The improvement in economic compensation is part of the priority policies of the administration headed by Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, whose main objective is to strengthen police forces and guarantee better benefits and greater stability for those responsible for protecting public safety.

“This is also important because all of this has allowed us to move forward and reach the point shown on this slide,” said Secretary Carrillo Rodríguez.

In addition to the salary increase and standardization, Secretary Carrillo Rodríguez emphasized that the State Government is simultaneously working on additional institutional support and assistance programs, seeking to establish a comprehensive security policy based on the professionalization and continued dignification of police personnel.
