With music, color, tradition, and joy, hundreds of residents of Monclova enjoyed the presentation of the Guelaguetza, a show that brought to the Main Plaza a sample of Oaxaca’s cultural richness, as part of the “Oaxaca in Monclova” Artisan Expo.

Yesterday afternoon, families and visitors gathered at the Main Plaza to witness a spectacle filled with folklore, where traditional dances, colorful costumes, and music transported attendees to the different regions of the state of Oaxaca.

The Guelaguetza is considered one of the greatest expressions of Oaxaca’s culture and folklore and brings together the traditions of the state’s eight regions, whose towns and communities proudly share their dances, music, clothing, and customs.

During the presentation, the folkloric group showcased part of this cultural richness, with dancers filling the stage with movement and color, while the audience enjoyed and recognized some of the most emblematic traditions of the state.

Attendees did not hesitate to applaud and enthusiastically participate in each of the performances, turning the Main Plaza into a space for family gatherings and an encounter with Mexican traditions.

The presentation is part of the “Oaxaca in Monclova” Artisan Expo, which will take place at the Main Plaza through August 30, 2026, where visitors can also find handicrafts, products, and gastronomic offerings from Oaxaca.

During the exhibition, the gastronomic activities begin at 10:00 a.m., while the main cultural and dance events take place starting at 7:00 p.m.

With this celebration, the people of Monclova had the opportunity to learn about and enjoy part of Oaxaca’s cultural richness without leaving the city, in an evening where music, colors, and dances transformed the Main Plaza into a setting of tradition and joy.
