In Mexico City, ORIGINAL – Encuentro de Arte Textil Mexicano put Mexico’s Indigenous textile traditions at the center of the spotlight. 🇲🇽❤️

Instead of simply having professional models wear the designs, the event brought artesanas and artesanos themselves onto the runway, walking alongside models while showcasing garments created through traditional techniques passed down through generations.

The pieces represented communities and traditions from across Mexico, featuring embroidery, handwoven textiles, natural dyes and other ancestral techniques. Regions including Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Puebla and Yucatán were represented.

What makes ORIGINAL especially meaningful is its focus on recognizing the people and communities behind the designs and promoting fair, direct relationships with artisans rather than treating their cultural work as just another fashion trend.

Mexico’s Indigenous textile traditions aren’t just history — they’re alive, they’re evolving, and they’re still being created by the communities who inherited them. 🇲🇽🔥

A beautiful reminder of the incredible cultural richness Mexico carries. ❤️🇲🇽
