The company inaugurated its second location in Los Cabos and its third in Baja California Sur, with the objective of supporting the region’s housing, tourism and infrastructure growth
The company The Home Depot inaugurated its 144th store in San José del Cabo on the morning of Thursday, August 20. It is the company’s second store in Los Cabos and third in Baja California Sur.

The objective is to support the housing, tourism and infrastructure growth taking place in the region, as well as meet the needs of households, construction professionals and businesses.
Pepe Rodriguez, president and CEO of The Home Depot Mexico, said the opening takes place as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary in the country, continuing its commitment to regions with greater economic dynamism and tourism development in Mexico, such as Los Cabos.
He highlighted that the opening responds to growing demand for specialized services and comprehensive solutions for construction, remodeling, maintenance and decoration projects, considering that the company already has one store in Cabo San Lucas and another in La Paz.

“Customers in San José del Cabo will find the best high-quality products, with a great deal of innovation, installation services and credit services. We are going to provide this highly dynamic area with everything they need to remodel, build, whatever they can imagine; here we have products not only in the store, but also online.”
Impact on the Local Economy
The new The Home Depot store in San José del Cabo was developed with an investment of 690 million pesos and is generating a total of 95 direct jobs, which are added to the 200 jobs the company already has in Baja California Sur.
For the company, Rodriguez explained, the opening also represents an impact on the community, since it is estimated that for every direct job, four indirect jobs are generated, contributing to the local economy.
“What is most important is that here you will have a team of 95 associates, 86 of whom are new employees from San José del Cabo. They are very excited to serve you, and they are led by a management team whose phrase is: today we are going to laugh and enjoy ourselves because San José del Cabo has to be opened.”
The CEO of The Home Depot Mexico said that the inauguration became a reality thanks to the efforts of contractors, business partners, suppliers, strategic allies and associates.
“We reaffirm our commitment to being closer to the families and professionals of San José del Cabo. Individual and professional customers will find more than 50,000 products, leading and exclusive brands.”

Supporting Mexican Suppliers
Currently, more than 80% of The Home Depot’s suppliers are Mexican, and one out of every ten exports its products to the company’s stores in the United States and Canada.
In Baja California Sur, Rodriguez said, the company will continue promoting the incorporation of local suppliers that have the quality and capacity necessary to grow alongside the company.
Social Commitment
Eduardo Ramón, management leader in San José del Cabo, said that the team is happy to finally present the effort, passion and work they have carried out over this period to provide the best service.
“For us, your visit is extremely important. Our commitment to everyone is that you have the best shopping experience you have ever had, not only at The Home Depot but anywhere you have ever shopped.”
As part of its first Depot Teams volunteer initiative in San José del Cabo, before the store opened, 80 volunteer associates carried out cleaning and conservation activities at Playa El Tule, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the environment and the region.
Since 2005, when the company arrived in the state, it has carried out more than 138 volunteer initiatives, collaborated with 130 social organizations, and allocated more than 22 million pesos in donations of products, materials and resources obtained through fundraising campaigns.
