Man charged with setting fire to five vehicles in Ciudad Juárez

The Northern District Prosecutor’s Office of Chihuahua formally charged Noha Alexandre S. O. and/or Noha Alexander S. O. with aggravated property damage in Ciudad Juárez after he allegedly set fire to five vehicles that were on display outside the MG dealership on Ejército Nacional Avenue.

According to the investigation, during the early hours of August 20, at the intersection of Ejército Nacional Avenue and Del Heno Street, in the El Marquis neighborhood, outside the dealership, he allegedly sprayed an accelerant chemical on one of the vehicles and set it on fire. The flames subsequently spread, damaging four additional vehicles, all 2026 models.

Noha Alexandre S. O., 23, was arrested on the night of Saturday, August 22, by officers from the State Investigation Agency, who executed an arrest warrant against him for the aforementioned offense.

During the initial hearing, prosecutors presented evidence and legal arguments linking the defendant to the time and location of the events.

The judge presiding over the criminal case ordered justified pretrial detention as a precautionary measure and scheduled the hearing to determine whether he will be bound over for trial for August 28.
