Federal authorities carried out simultaneous operations at 36 properties in Hidalgo, Jalisco, and Michoacán, where 20 people linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) were arrested.
On social media, the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, stated that firearms, drugs, 113 vehicles, tigers, panthers, other animals and birds that were being inadequately cared for, cash, communication equipment, a drone, and a drone jammer, among other objects, were seized.
“With these arrests and those carried out during the precision operation on August 19, led by the Mexican Army, a total of 32 members of this organization have been arrested,” the official emphasized.
He explained that the objective of the Security Cabinet is not only to arrest those generating violence, but also to continuously weaken the operational, logistical, and financial capabilities of criminal organizations.
He maintained that the strength of the State lies in its institutions, intelligence and investigation capabilities, and its ability to act in a coordinated manner to protect the population.
