The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) reported that it requested from Grecia “N” the mobile phones used by Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez in order to document and conduct forensic processing of the devices as part of the investigation into the murder of the former mayor of Uruapan.

The request was formally notified this Friday to Grecia Quiroz, in her capacity as an indirect victim.

The Attorney General’s Office also informed her about the progress of the investigative proceedings carried out so far and the lines of investigation that remain ongoing.

According to the FGE, the analysis of the phones is part of the investigative procedures aimed at the “comprehensive clarification of the facts.”

The institution stated that both the communication of investigative progress and the request for the devices are carried out in accordance with constitutional provisions and the National Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Attorney General’s Office stated that it will continue with the necessary prosecutorial and forensic proceedings to clarify the murder, under the principles of “legality, objectivity, and respect for due process.”

The FGE added that it will report on the results as the development of the investigation allows.

Meanwhile, Grecia Quiroz reported that this Thursday she held an institutional meeting with Michoacán Deputy Attorney General Israel Vega to discuss “very important issues” and stated that the coordination will allow them to move forward in the best possible way.

On her social media accounts, the municipal president of Uruapan also wrote that “those who have nothing to hide have nothing to fear; justice will come sooner or later.”
