More than 800 cyclists have registered for L’Étape Tabasco 2026 by Tour de France, which will take place this weekend in the state, reported Vania Elizabeth de Alba González, Chief Administrative Officer of the Secretariat of Administration and Finance of Tabasco.
She said that a press conference will be held on Wednesday to provide more details, with the participation of authorities from Centro, Jalapa, Teapa and Tacotalpa, the municipalities through which the route will pass.
She indicated that the competition is part of the official Tour de France circuit, placing Tabasco on the international cycling map.
She recalled that road closures and temporary traffic restrictions will be implemented at different points along the route, and therefore urged citizens to make the necessary arrangements and stay informed about traffic schedules. Likewise, local authorities will coordinate security and assistance operations to ensure the event runs smoothly.
She said that holding L’Étape Tabasco represents not only a sporting challenge but also an opportunity to promote tourism and position Tabasco as an international destination. Significant economic activity is expected in lodging, gastronomy and local services.
