Cooperativa Pascual, the Mexican Company Behind Boing, Faces a Complex Outlook

Cooperativa Pascual, a 100% Mexican company and creator of Boing, is facing a challenging situation due to higher taxes on sugary and artificially sweetened beverages, combined with intense competition from foreign multinational companies.

Some brands do more than simply sell products. They also become part of our history.

The increase in the Special Tax on Production and Services (IEPS) on sugary beverages significantly increased the sector’s tax burden and also affected products containing sweeteners.

At the same time, while facing a market dominated by multinational giants such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi, this Mexican company continues looking for alternatives to remain competitive, including new options without sweeteners.

This raises an important question:

What happens when we stop consuming products made in Mexico?

Behind every bottle of Boing are workers, families, suppliers, and a cooperative that has been part of the lives of millions of Mexicans for decades.

This is not about saying that a brand is perfect.

It is about recognizing the value of having Mexican companies that produce goods, provide employment, and contribute to the country’s economy.

Choosing products made in Mexico is not simply about choosing a beverage. It also means supporting jobs, families, and traditions that are part of the country.

If we want iconic Mexican brands such as Boing to continue moving forward, supporting the national industry becomes important.

Let’s support Mexican products and the people behind them.
